Our 30 years of experience tells us that borrowing “new” ideas from the commercial sector doesn’t always work. Philanthropy and the love at the core of that philanthropy is distinct and needs to be cared for in a way that can feel very different from how a business cares for its customers. So rather than simply borrow ideas from one context and plant them in another, it is long past time to develop our sector’s own ideas, developed specifically for the purpose of growing philanthropy.
